Let's Talk Body Care

Last week, I went on a little splurging spree. It's the first time I talk about body care on the blog and I am a bit nervous to share these thoughts with you guys. I know it might sound stupid, but it's just that I never thought I would be talking about creams and other things like that on here in the first place. Since I moved back to Frankfurt in May, and since there are a ton of shops for everyone's liking, I've been eyeing some products that I would like to try. And to be honest I didn't want to wait for some special occasion to treat myself to them, I just kind of wanted to buy them all at once when I was sure I used up some of my old stuff at home. And bam, there I was a few weeks ago - ran out of hand cream, ran out of other necessities and thought it's time to that body care shopping I've been meaning to do for quite some time. To be honest, I am not the one to really splurge on things like creams and makeup. But that does not mean I do not appreciate a good valuable product. At the end of the day we have just one body, and we need to take care of it.

So I finally bought those products I wanted to try. Although I did not find some things (like new makeup brushes), so I'll have to order them online. But for now I got the most important ones, and I am really excited to start using them. I got two hand creams, one from Rituals, which smells heavenly and which I'll be always carrying with me out and about. And the other on from &Other Stories from a Swedish brand called La Bruket. I've always loved stronger smells, in body care and perfumes (especially amber!) and La Bruket is a brand that focuses on organic ingredients including various herbs like rosmary, as well as lavender and more. What's a better way to take care of your skin with the weather getting colder and colder each day than by nourishing and replenishing it with organic creams? Speaking of organic, next on my wish list are Kora Organics and Aesop products. Have you ever heard or tried them? To finish off, I got some face cream and new perfume that I've been spraying on my wrists each time I went &Other Stories, and I just knew it was my kind of smell so I bough it too. Although I am not sure if it's the right scent for fall/winter, but who cares so long as you like how it smells! I grabbed a shower set from Rituals and will be definitely doing a little revitalizing once a week with that scrub, oil and body cream to make sure my skin is moisturised and renewed. I was really happy to receive a limited edition candle set as a gift from them as well, since I am such a big fan of candles. Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed this post and let me know if you have or want to try any of these products. And don't forget to take care of your skin this season!

  1. I enjoyed this post! Different from your usual, but I enjoy having the fancy body care items tucked away for occasional use (can't bring myself to spend much on everyday products). My favorite lotion lately has been VS "Victoria." I love the strong, yet super feminine smell. That's about my greatest splurge because I use so much of it. I just lather it on after my shower in the dry, winter season.

    1. Exactly! Just like if you ate your favorite food every day it would lose its magic, the same for everyday products - you wouldn't feel any difference if you used them very often. I never used VS body lotions, but most of my friends seem to love their body sprays from VS! I only own VS Bombshell body mist and always carry it in my bag, try it next time you're at their store. Too bad there is no VS store here in Frankfurt, think I would be a common visitor haha :)

  2. I love Rituals!!! :) :)
