24 Hours In Berlin

13:50:00

Somehow today feels like Monday to me. I got back from Berlin late last night and had work today, so I suppose that's why today feels more like the beginning of the week. As you can guess from the title, this post is about another city I went to recently. Finally, I can tick off Berlin of my list of cities I want to visit. It's funny though, that I've been to cities way farther than Berlin in my life, yet I've never been to Berlin itself despite living in Germany for a good couple of years now. And to be honest, those 24 hours I spent there were more than enough. I love Frankfurt, I mentioned it before and I will say it again - I never felt anywhere so at home as in Frankfurt, so I was actually happy to come back home. But that does not mean I didn't enjoy Berlin - it was just very different. I really found myself fascinated by all the history around me and how different the city is in comparison to any other place in Germany. The Berlin Wall definitely left the biggest impression on me, it is now turned into an East Side Gallery full of unique illustrations and graffiti paintings. I remember sitting in history classes and learning about the Berlin Wall a few years ago but never did I think I would see the actual wall with my own eyes, or a much smoother version that is left of it now. Aside, the historic side of Berlin, the city itself is full of many artsy places, restaurants and is definitely a very vibrant place. I don't think I could ever live there but I did enjoy exploring it for those 24 hours.

Have you been to Berlin? What did you think of it? P.S if you're ever there I highly recommend Madami restaurant, best salmon steak and king prawns I ever had!

With Love,
Bri

  1. The photos almost make it feel like a city from the past! Did it feel that way to you while you were there, or did it feel more modern?

  2. I love your photos and how well you captured this city. The thing about Berlin (although I've never been there) is that I feel I'm walking on history, and I don't know but there's something about that city that makes me sad or melancholic. My sister is going to Berlin in a few weeks so I wanted to ask you, madame is expensive? thank you!

    1. Sorry for replying so late Paula! No, it's actually not very expensive. I think for a suuuper delicious huge meal and a drink I paid around 25 euros. But trust me it's really good and worth it!
